How the Helpdesk uses your information
Northcliff High School uses this Helpdesk to fix IT and maintenance problems. This is what it keeps about you and why, under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
- What we keep
- Your name and work email from your school Microsoft account, your role, and the tickets you log, including photos.
- Why
- Only to fix the problems you report and to keep you updated. It isn’t used to assess staff.
- Who can see it
- You, the team that handles your request (for example IT Support or Maintenance), and the Helpdesk admins. It’s stored in the European Union (the Netherlands and Germany), which has data protection law comparable to POPIA.
- How long
- Photos are deleted automatically 90 days after a ticket is done, and tickets 3 years after.
- Please don’t include
- Learners’ names, photos of learners, or screens showing learner information. If a photo shows a learner, IT will delete it.
- Your rights
- You can ask IT for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it. Questions go to the school’s Information Officer.
